Computational modeling of sigmoid functionally graded material (SFGM) Plate

Abstract The first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) was used to explore the natural frequency response of functionally graded piezoelectric plates subjected static electrical and mechanical strain in this present study. A monomorph model for a plate with material properties that change according sigmoid law respect thickness has been considered. three-dimensional finite element free tetrahedral mesh created using COMSOL 4.2 Multiphysics® software, each node having three degrees freedom. Variations FGPM plate's vibration boundary conditions, composition, geometry have all investigated. In analysis, non-dimensional initially decreasing considerably then remaining almost constant increase volume fraction index when property by power law. When are varied law, an index, remains virtually constant. lower if width ratio is greater. Non-dimensional frequencies Clamped-Clamped (C-C-C-C) greater compared Clamped-Free (C-F-C-F) Simply Supported Free (S-F-S-F).
